This piece was inspired while walking through the busy markets of Thailand when I came across a a series of exotic plants and flowers. I sat for several hours examining the area and this plant really stood out to me. Due to its colorful pot that was being lit by multiple different lighting sources it cast off a warm and delightful ora. I had to paint it. Using multiple different styles of brushes to give it the texture and style it needed and capture the feel of reality. I mixed the most present colors to create a natural and lush color pallet. Using the color pallet I used small brush stokes to create the texture of the pot and I used longer brush strokes to capture the movement of the plants. It's an excellent collectors piece and go's well with contemporary spaces that are looking for a natural twist.

Born in the US in 1982, life started for me in rural Alaska and the american midwest. I was raised on looney toons cartoons, animaniacs and indian jones films. But mainly spent most of my time wandering around in the woods with a sketch pad and number 2 pencil. I spent my child hood in nature and ever since, have been completely infatuated with recreating my own perception of it through my art.
