About the work

This is a modern, abstract print that is simple yet beautiful. The design looks like colorful pebbles hanging on strings, but they are not very realistic so the design is open to interpretation. The pebbles also are very light transparent colors, allowing the string to show through. I wanted the design to feel light and airy with lots of white and negative space. The oblong shapes of the pebbles help create this interesting space.

    An Atlanta native, Elaine Stephenson is an artist, designer and calligrapher working out of Roswell, GA. She decided to pursue art as a career path and holds a BFA in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia. Studying graphic design ignited her love for typography and lettering by hand, which led to her discovery of calligraphy. From her design background and love of crafting by hand, Elaine found her calling in painting and calligraphy.
