Living in Southern California means our changing seasons are a bit more subtle than most. It's not unusual for us to have eighty-five degree days in October, with brush fires and earthquakes more of a threat than an early snow. It was one particular fall day that I was yearning a bit for the color of turning trees and pumpkins when I made this image. I pointed the camera at the sun to create the sense of autumn warmth while still celebrating my California home.
