This Illustration is part of a series of state floral bouquets inspired by my love of flowers. The blossom of the dogwood tree was designated the state flower of North Carolina in 1941. The blossoms appear in early spring and continue into the summer. The dogwood is the most common tree in North Carolina and can be found in all parts of the state.
