"Old Fields Vineyard" is my favorite vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island. The combination of their delicious wine and a beautiful summer day is hard to beat and with this painting you get to experience it every day. This is part of a collection of 8"x 8" acrylic paintings that I completed over one month. I challenged myself to paint 30 paintings in 30 days for the month of January. It was the perfect time to hunker down with a glass of red wine or a cup of tea (depending on the time of day) and explore with a paintbrush in hand and the beautiful landscapes of the East End of Long Island in my heart. This collection of paintings is called "Bittersweet" because, in my opinion, the best things in life are bittersweet and full of contrast. There is something about the contrast of old and new, dark and light, cold and warm that brings out the true beauty of nature to me.
