I am influenced by japanese wood blocks. This was my attempt to cut into wood and free form the negative & positive space. Then I inked the blocks and pressed on a special paper. The combination of not pressing very hard, the amount of ink and the texture of the paper gave me what I was hoping for. It was kind of a mistake as it happened, but it turned out better than I expected.
