Homes and architecture are the shells for families, their stories told, songs sung and letters written, but all amongst an assemblage of color, pattern and texture. This piece delves into the possible contents and history of an old farmhouse. Using scans of vintage fabrics to create a graphic under layer, the encaustic medium embeds and softens the history within the wax while the architectural element remains more visible on the top, etched in oil.
