And/Or No.16 is a fun abstract typographical response to the expression "and/or". It was originally shown as part of a series of 24 unique silkscreen prints in the exhibition titled And/Or in Melbourne, Australia in 2014. It is a hand pulled silkscreen print which uses hand-cut paper stencils which, by nature, warp and degrade quickly during the printing process. You never quite know what the resulting image will be! This makes it a really fun and surprising process which employs "happy accidents" in the process. It was also printed using multiple layers of translucent (eco friendly, water based) ink to create an unexpected and often unplanned palette. There was only ever one And/Or No.16 printed! It is truly unique. A note on the size of the original print of And/Or No.16: Previous to the And/Or series, I had always printed on oversized paper. I loved to print posters. However for the And/Or series I was going to be 8+ months pregnant when it came time to do the printing. There was no way I was going to be able to reach the top of the screen. So instead of printing one poster for the And/Or exhibition, I decided to print 24 smaller A4 sized prints and tile them on the wall to make one huge "poster"! This was achievable. And, I am overjoyed with the result! With both results!
