About the work
This vibrant abstract painting was inspired by the lovely blush and blue hues of a coral reef I visited in Bonaire. The brilliant blue of the sea contrasted with the soft pinks of the staghorn corals. The colors in this piece were influenced by that juxtaposition.

In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art. Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
