Autumn Rituals is an abstract painting that I created with watercolor, gouache, pencil, and acrylic in November 2018. This is part of my ongoing painting series, "Growth," where I will visually explore themes of the way we change via nature and nurture, mind and body, physical and spiritual.

Her work is inspired by Louisiana landscapes, Pacific Northwest mountains and forests, the coast of California, New York City architecture, and Seattle skylines. Melanie studied abstract painting at Gage Academy of Art. She was born in rural Louisiana and spent most of her adult life on the West Coast. No matter where her journeys take her, Louisiana, the Pacific Northwest, and Southern California will always live inside her.
