Zuahaza co-creates handwoven pieces with women artisans from Colombia using high quality natural fibers such as organic fique fiber, palm fiber and natural dyes. At Zuahaza, designers and artisans collaborate to preserve the Colombian craft of weaving while creating uniquely beautiful pieces for the modern home. Zuahaza means “my sister” in the Muisca language of the people who lived in the Cundiboyacense mountain region of Colombia. As a social enterprise, Zuahaza strives to embody collective sisterhood between women in Colombia by building a community that works in fair trade standards and sustainable production models.

    With a background in textiles from MICA and experience in the artisan field across Latin America, Tatiana founded the home decor brand of Zuahaza. She is dedicated to natural materials, such as natural dyes and organic fibers, and is an advocate for sustainable methods of production. Her Colombian roots have always given her a passion for and admiration towards indigenous craftsmanship, and her favorite part of creating is the interchange of knowledge with artisan partners.
