This painting features a strong play between darks and lights, shadows and sunshine. In the foreground the grasses and plants have flowers dotted between them, leading up to a tree that shades a part of the path that cuts through the field. Because the path is high up there is no background other than the vastness of the clear blue skies.

-Hand painted with vibrant acrylics and oil sticks on gallery-sized wood (birch) canvas;

-Painting is painted along the edges in a soft blue and is protected by a satin varnish.

-The areas where oil sticks were used were treated several times with a special fixative to keep it in place;

-Artwork measures 14" x 11" x 1.5"

-Frame measures 15 3/4" x 11 3/4"and 2" depth;

-Frame material is natural wood and can be painted, varnished or left as it is.

**About the artist

Lottie Aldarwish paints from her studio overlooking the ocean in Nova Scotia, Canada. She loves the effect that colors and artwork have on a space and is eternally inspired by how different colors and shadows play out against each other. She's passionate about using natural materials and loves the feel of painting on wood.
