Using an abstract yet detailed pencil drawing, this piece was created with the use of Illustrator to manipulate a section of the drawing into a kaleidoscope pattern. Something that could never be perfectly created by hand, the kaleidoscope combines perfect symmetry with the organic feeling that comes from the varying widths of a pencil line. The symmetry of the kaleidoscope is then juxtaposed against the spontaneous and unpredictable nature of a watercolor wash.
