This watercolor began as an abstract exploration of color, texture and transparency. As the painting progressed it reminded me more and more of a visual memory of a transatlantic trip I had taken on an ocean liner as a small child. The magnificent and expansive view of sea and sky from the ship's porthole was captured in this abstract combination of brushstrokes.
