A dusting of snow had blanketed the rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley in the dark winter month of February 2022. During this short, yet what can feel like the longest month of the year for some, I challenged myself this month to find the beauty in the darkness. I decided to focus this time on practicing ICM photography (intentional camera movement) to pull out additional colors and shapes that aren't visible to the naked eye by slowing my shutter waaaaay down, and moving my body around to create new landscapes. Often times, dancing to classical music, moving my body in time to the music to create this pieces of work. I was very happy with many of the images I captured during this time, reminding me there is beauty all around us, even when we are swollowed in darkness.
