This colorful landscape depicts "Cerro Pedernal" or "Flint Hill", a large desert mesa in Northern New Mexico. The colors especially are inspired by Georgia O'Keefe the American painter, who in turn was inspired greatly by this land surrounding her longtime home and studio, Ghost Ranch. The final image is a layered, digital composite of many exposures, each made to feature a different part of the place. Some photographs focus on small details like the spiky vegetation. Other photographs capture the vastness of the scene. The overall effect conveys a bit of the wonder I felt upon experiencing this place for the first time and the feeling of artistic kinship I felt towards O'Keeffe.

I'm a visual artist with a background in commercial photography. Inspired by color both bold and subtle, I am interested in making art using the technology of digital photography. I am a huge fan of puns, corny jokes, and carbonation. Grateful to be a part of the Minted community. My dream is to license a design to West Elm one day. Or design a license. Whichever comes first. Get in touch with any questions or commission requests. I would love to help design a custom piece for your walls!
