"and she danced" is a continuation of my effort to incorporate a sense of movement across and/or beyond the canvas. On a personal level, the intention behind this exploration is to try to reconcile parts of my past and my present. As I age, I find myself looking back on my dancer days as another person in another life and am very surprised at how weighted some of those memories are. It was an intense and wild time, yet the work demanded both a 'groundedness' and freedom that I would like to find in my current practice as a visual artist. It's time.
