This piece is part of a larger collection called "Benevolent ceramics", where simple everyday objects are explored and celebrated. This work is called "The Giving Bowl" and goes well with the other ceramics artworks (Gratitude Pot, Kindness Cups, Generosity Jug). Using a muted palette of soft lilac contrasting with a dark navy blue and earthy brown, this simple kitchen scene celebrates all of the warmth and generosity that comes from the kitchen. The proportions of all the elements convey a comforting sense of stability, peace and hopefulness. As part of a mindfulness practice, I've been inspired to connect more deeply with both people and objects in my life and to "Do small things with great love." I hope the viewer will be inspired to connect deeply and compassionately with the simple things in their lives.
