More often than not, my paintings are worked on in layers ... Spanning the course of several painting sessions. This piece was an experiment in using different techniques and tools to create a unique texture. While experimenting, the patterns in this painting reminded me a net, hence the name "leap and the net will appear", which is a favorite quote of mine from John Burroughs.
