The inspiration behind this piece is that I love to see perennials each spring. I grew up in Florida and we have flowers year round. When we moved to Chicago I noticed the perennials bloom around the neighborhood. We were in Chicago for the blizzard in 2011. I really began to appreciate the delicacy and the resiliency of perennials. This photograph was taken while walking around our neighborhood. If you look closely, you can see some water droplets on some of the stems from the sprinklers. This is a mixed media piece created by merging photography with digital paint. Hope you enjoy!
