Her work is inspired by Louisiana landscapes, Pacific Northwest mountains and forests, the coast of California, New York City architecture, and Seattle skylines. Melanie studied abstract painting at Gage Academy of Art. She was born in rural Louisiana and spent most of her adult life on the West Coast.
