This piece is inspired by a moonrise I spotted with my children while on vacation in Vero Beach, Florida. We all walked out to the beach to watch the moon slowly rise over the horizon, as the sky grew darker and brighter at the same time. It is nearly impossible to capture the elegance of a moonrise with a camera, so I sketched one with gray and white instead.
