This serene rabbit is one of three in a set of small animal illustrations. Each illustration is hand-drawn, and an exercise in a layered style of illustration that I have been playing with and developing. I really enjoy the mix of texture and color and the resulting depth created. A realistic color palate was abandoned in favor of a more playful color scheme. For the rabbit, the warm golden tones evoke a vintage folk tale illustration style, while contrasting marks of white, grey and black add texture, depth and movement. This rabbit would brighten any room.
