Carol C. Young is a CT based artist who has gained recognition for her bold landscape paintings. Her use of contrasting colors capture the light and shadow of architectural structures within the rural landscape. Carol is intrigued by older buildings, and has been identified with her depictions of barns. In the artist’s words, “There is something nostalgic about an old barn or cottage that draws me in and I hope to capture them on canvas before the ever changing landscape changes again forever.”

I’m a recluse so you will never meet me, but my artwork you can see! I’m also a bit driven because I’m always thinking about the painting I’m working on or the next one I want to start. The San Francisco Bay Area, is where I am sheltering at home with my husband and college bound son. My older son works in Los Angeles. Paint colors, shapes and textures bring me happiness and carry me to a whole new world. I am grateful painting allows me to escape the realities of the pandemic. I look forward to being able to paint theater sets with my comrades at WVLO again.

Jinhee (Artist name, jinseikou) began drawing at a very early age in her mother’s art schools. Since 10 year-old, she has learned from dessin to water & oil paintings under the traditional art curriculums in S.Korea and Japan. Simplicity, delicate realism and the tension of spreading inky pigment on watery paper have fascinated her. Currently, she is living in Brooklyn, NY and working as a commission artist & illustrator. I do admire simplicity, sculptural shapes and art that invites the eye to pause and wonder. Abstract photography is mingled among my paintings, as this indulges my adventurous nature outside of my studio. And when the well is dry, some good coffee, good chocolate or time in the great outdoors with family makes everything better.

Carmen Guedez

I am a self-taught painter and breast cancer warrior. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Through my art, I am driven to transmit optimism and happiness in the mind of the viewer. I have sold over 600 original paintings to private collectors and corporations around the world. Some of my creations can be found on West Elm, Overstock, Wayfair, among other stores. Recently, one of my paintings was featured in the miniseries “Reverie” on NBC.

An Iowa native living in Denver, Colorado, Kara is an independent artist and graphic designer. Her work is inspired by both her travels across Europe and roots in the Midwest. Luckily, design is my job but doesn’t (usually) feel like work. I am a freelance graphic designer and I also enjoy painting, sewing, yoga, and being near the beach. I think fine paper & good typography are like warm apple pie & vanilla ice cream, but my 3 kids don’t see the connection! Maybe one day they will love good design as much as dessert.

I’m a recluse so you will never meet me, but my artwork you can see! I’m also a bit driven because I’m always thinking about the painting I’m working on or the next one I want to start. Painting is tormenting and sublime at the same time which make the challenge to finish so addicting. I love the staining and saturation of color and my most successful work achieves a clean color vibrancy, with a sense of fluid movement that is complex yet minimal.
