About the work

This sweet art print features botanicals and citrus in a bold and cheery design inspired by trips to California during the spring where we love to pick fresh citrus from the 17 different varieties in my sister's backyard. I love working in watercolor and witnessing the fascinating outcome as translucent washes and intense chroma combine into subtle blooms.

    Kara Aina was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada and now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. She works primarily in watercolor, oils, and occasionally in ink, acrylic, and collage. Her work is inspired by connections and interactions she has with family, friends and nature. In addition to being an artist she is a mother to 4 sons and is an art educator; currently teaching at the middle and high school level.
