About the work

This spring I've discovered my love for capturing nature, specifically flowers, here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. During this series, I experimented by shooting very close and using strong contrasts. I really enjoy studying the play between light and shadow. This shot was captured after an early rain shower which accounts for some of this early blossom's droop.
