About the work

Madeline Island on Lake Superior boasts reddish pink sand and pebble beaches, colored from the iron in glacial deposits. I could spend hours walking the beach, collecting rocks worn smooth from countless waves. This photograph is one in a series of images taken on Madeline Island, one of the Apostles Islands in Wisconsin.
