Stylish Table Numbers for Your Wedding

WEDDING TABLE NUMBERS TO MATCH YOUR CELEBRATION STYLE

Help guests find their seats at the reception with beautiful wedding table numbers from Minted. Wedding table cards are a small detail but a very important element to every wedding. Usually displayed at the center of each dinner table, these cards should clearly indicate the table number so guests can easily find their table as they enter the wedding reception.

CHIC WEDDING DECOR DESIGNED BY INDEPENDENT ARTISTS

Set a stunning reception table with Minted's unique collection of table number cards, which always come with free table-name and number printing. Our designs have been created exclusively for Minted by our community of independent artists. They are designed to match our stylish wedding invitation offerings, so you can create a cohesive wedding stationery look for your guests.

Our wedding table numbers are sized at 5" x 7" and are available in hundreds of designs, styles, and colors. They can be purchased for the specific number of reception tables you will be having (with a minimum purchase of five). Prices start at $2 each (for 10) if opting for standard printing. Foil-pressed and gloss-pressed designs start at $3.70 each (for 10).

Once you have a pattern and design finalized, have your table cards printed on a variety of luxe paper options. Look at the options Minted provides:

  • Signature: Our signature paper stock is thick and luxurious, with an off-white hue and smooth cotton texture (130 lb., 19.3 point thickness).
  • Pearlescent: If you'd like to add a pretty shimmer to your table cards, this is a perfect choice (110 lb., 14.5 point thickness).
  • Recycled: A great option if you're trying to be as eco-friendly as possible with your wedding decisions. Our recycled paper is FSC-certified, manufactured using wind power, and is made using 100% post-consumer recycled materials. The paper stock is thick, with a smooth and matte feel and finish (160 lb., 17.5 point thickness).
  • DoubleThick: If you're looking for a heavier paper stock (the thicker the paper stock, the better your table number cards will stand upright), then our DoubleThick paper is a great option. It's made extra thick by fusing two layers of paper together (240 lb., 35 point thickness).
  • Luxe Museum Board: Our thickest paper option, our Luxe Museum Board paper is so thick and luxurious, you won't be able to bend or crease the card (360 lb., 54 point thickness).

PROFESSIONAL PERSONALIZATION

Our table cards can be personalized to match your reception needs. Change the colors, fonts, type size, and wording to complement your celebration, all for free. Through our personalization tools, you will have the ability to edit both the front and the back of the card. You could opt to mirror the display on both sides, so guests can spot the sign from all directions. Or, you could add a colored backer, photos, or text to help tell your love story. We provide you with options to be as creative as you wish.

CONSIDER YOUR WEDDING THEME

Just because your table numbers serve a functional purpose does not mean they have to be boring. If you've already decided on your wedding theme, you should try to choose a design for your table notifications that complements your wedding aesthetic. Here are some stylish themes to really make your reception tables stand out:

  • Modern: Look for designs featuring painterly swatches of color, sans-serif typography, and graphic patterns.
  • Rustic: Design motifs you might like if you're planning a rustic wedding might include mountain scenery and vistas, wood-grain illustrations and texture, leaves and trees, or branches. You may also consider filtering designs from our collection that are predominantly earth tones like green and brown.
  • Classic & Formal: Foil-pressed borders add a hint of shine around the table numeral. The combination of formal script paired with a serif font for the table numeral always looks classic and chic.
  • Botanical: Choose from designs that feature painterly peonies, olive branches, botanical illustrations, and greenery wreaths if you're planning a nature-inspired wedding.
  • Simple & Minimalist: Some design elements to look for include clean typography, muted color palettes, and an emphasis on white space so the printed number really pops.

IMPORTANT TIPS TO REMEMBER

Here are our top tips for making sure your table numbers truly stand out. While they should achieve their primary purpose of organizing your guests, there are some creative ways they can be displayed and worded.

  • Make sure the font and font size are large and legible. They should be big, bold, and easy to read, especially from a distance. Avoid fonts that are very intricate or involve a lot of calligraphy that may be misinterpreted.
  • Position the cards on each table so they are facing the reception entrance. This way, guests will be able to easily see them as they enter the venue.
  • If possible, make your cards double-sided so guests can spot the signs from any direction.
  • Use table number holders so the cards are upright and visible. Don't try to lean the cards against the floral centerpiece. The cards will invariably tip over and the florals should not be blocked from view by other table decorations. We have more details about holders below.
  • If your reception is taking place outdoors, you will definitely need to use holders to secure the cards to the table. Another idea would be to place the number notification cards in a freestanding picture frame to prevent gusts of wind from blowing them over.
  • Instead of using basic numerals, you could customize your table organization by naming each reception table after something significant in your life and your relationship. Here are a few of our favorite table naming ideas:
    • Cities, states, or countries you have traveled to together.
    • Streets you have lived on.
    • Meaningful places you've been to on dates.
    • Favorite authors, books, or literary couples.
    • Favorite movies or TV shows.
    • Favorite albums, bands, or concerts you've attended.
    • Local landmarks.
    • Favorite sports teams, athletes, stadiums, etc.
    • Favorite mountains you've hiked, hiking trails, campsites, ski runs, etc.
    • Favorite dishes your partner makes, favorite family recipes, spices, etc.
    • Favorite restaurants and bars.
    • Favorite beers and cocktails.

OPTIONS FOR HOLDERS

Once you order wedding table cards, it's time to figure out how to display them. Here are some of favorite table number holder looks:

  • Modern: Our brushed-gold cubes (also available in silver) are stylish and versatile. They're clean and modern but will still work with every wedding style and theme. Continue to use the same holders after the wedding to display photos and other mementos.
  • Rustic: For a more casual, rustic look, we love our wooden cardholders that are available in a dark brown or whitewashed variety.
  • Classic & Formal: Our elegant brass cardholder is a great way to elevate the display of the printed number so it is clearly visible to guests as they enter the reception. You could even purchase a few extra to use to display your cocktail menus at the bar or at the dessert table.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What's the difference between an escort card, place card, and table number?

This is a great question and one that we get asked a lot, so you're not the only one who is confused! Here's the difference between each card:

  • Escort card: Escort cards are small cards that are printed with the guest's name and table assignment. The purpose is to direct guests to the table they've been assigned. Escort cards are usually found on a table at the entrance to the reception, typically lined up in neat rows in alphabetical order by last name.
  • Table number card: Once guests have picked up their escort card with their table assignment, the next thing they'll do is enter the reception and look for their table. Table number cards are placed in the center of each table and are printed with a single number or table name.
  • Place card: Once guests have found their assigned table, the place card lets them know which is their designated seat. Place cards are printed with each guest's name. Each card is usually placed on a folded napkin, which rests on the dinner plate, or on the table just above the dinner plate.

How do I create my wedding seating chart?

First, decide where you and your new spouse will want to sit at the reception. Are you planning to sit at a sweetheart table for two or with the rest of the wedding party? Next, seat the wedding party members and their plus-ones. Then, place your parents and also ask them to help seating their friends. For the rest of your guests, try your best to find common ground among groups of guests. Some common threads could be friends from college, work colleagues, similar lines of work, guests' ages, or geographic locations.

For more in-depth advice on creating your seating chart, be sure to read our comprehensive guide to wedding seating.

Our caterer is asking us to indicate guests' meal choices at the table. How do I do this?

This is a frequent request from caterers to help with the flow of meal service during the dinner reception. This way, servers can quickly scan the guest's place card to confirm which meal selection they have already pre-selected. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to subtly mark each place card according to a system that you'll pre-discuss with your caterer. For example, you could color-code the place cards according to meal choice (blue for seafood, green for vegetarian, etc.). Another idea would be to affix a sticker or stamp to each card to indicate the guest's meal choice. If you need more advice on working with your wedding caterer, print out our list of important questions to ask your caterer before you sign the contract.
