Visiting family friends in Canada several years ago I took pictures of rocks and water, which is one of my favorite motifs. I love sketching these compositions in my sketchbook because it gives me more freedom to explore the basic elements of rock verses water. I also love working out the contrast, the density with ink marks.

Iām a painter who primarily works in acrylics but also experiments in multi-media, collage and chalk paints on a variety of surfaces. I've also been a graphic designer by trade so I think my artwork tends to incorporate design elements here and there. I have my MFA from Washington University in St. Louis.
