I wanted to create a bold, geometric birthday invitation abstract enough to work for a young child of any age (i.e., the cake is "decorated" with a star sparkle banner rather than a recognizable number of candles). The design is intended to be both modern and a little bit retro to have a bit of nostalgic appeal.
