Growing up in Queensland, Australia, I was fortunate to have lived so close to one of the most lavish ecosystems of our world, the Great Barrier Reef. I wanted to create something that celebrated the amazing creatures of the reef but also as an urging statement to draw our awareness to the vulnerability of nature. As that marine world becomes more and more affected by coral bleaching, my hope in this piece was a Minke Whale would come and lead the reef and its creatures away into a safer world.
