For those who sometimes confuse Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah (they are just one letter apart), we thought we would provide a quick reminder. Bar Mitzvahs are for celebrating 13-year-old Jewish boys as they have completed their lessons and learnings through the synagogue. Similarly, Bat Mitzvahs are for young girls of about the same age. During these ceremonies, they’re granted permission to start reading from the Torah among many other honors and responsibilities in this new chapter.

- Add Custom Foil: One way to add a luxe look is to highlight certain details in metallic foil print. Depending on the card design, you can write the child’s name and invitation details in foil, while other cards use foil as an accent to highlight symbolic elements like the Star of David.
- Edit the Text: Include all the important details for your celebration. From the name of the synagogue to the RSVP info, Minted makes it easy for you to include anything you want. Change font sizes, alignment, and styling to best fit your invite’s design.
- Include a Photo: While some designs include a space to feature a photo on the front of your card, all designs allow for a special templated backer to be printed on the back of your Bar Mitzvah invite that can showcase one, or a collage of photos along with a personal message. With our editing tools, there’s no need to hire a graphic designer. This is a fun way to surprise and delight those who receive a card with extra info.

IMPORTANT DETAILS TO INCLUDE ON YOUR INVITE
While invitations might look simple and short, there are actually quite a few details to include on them, and many of those details are logistical. Some families may wish for guests to attend the actual religious ceremony and a reception after, while others may just want to invite guests to a post-ritual reception/party. Make sure your Bar and Bat Mitzvah invites are clear in terms of their guidance. Here is a list of details to include:
- Include “Bar Mitzvah” or “Bat Mitzvah: Let recipients know what we are celebrating
- Child’s name
- Name of the parents (optional)
- Date and Time
- Ceremony Location: If you are inviting guests to the religious ceremony, provide the name of the synagogue, Jewish community center, etc. Be sure to provide the address as well.
- Reception Location: If a reception will be held after at a different time and location, provide details to that as well.
- RSVP details: Include a phone number or email address where guests can respond.
