This is an original gauche and watercolor painting on a small board, it is part of a larger body of work of gemstone paintings, similar in nature to my prism diamond painting. Both are inspired by refraction in cut gemstones, and how the light passes through and effects the color. I am working on a full series of gemstone paintings based on the traditional birthstones, the Peridot is the birthstone for those born in August.
