About the work

This piece was inspired by the shores of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. While the lake is often serene and calm, violent waves and intense storms can arise quickly. Hundreds of shipwrecks sit silently at the bottom of the cold waters, leaving many watching at the shore for signs of their loved ones' return. This abstract landscape was painted with acrylic on canvas in moody hues of navy, plum, and gold.
