'Apple Season' was photographed near my home in what is known as apple country in the South Georgian Bay area. This tree is one of the last remaining trees from an old apple orchard. I've grown very fond of photographing these trees throughout the seasons, I find their aging limbs and imperfect apples quite captivating and beautiful. The birds in the area love hanging out in these trees as well, even feasting on what's left of their fruit in the snowy months of winter. I'm not sure how much longer this tree will be with us, and will miss it when it's gone. This close-up of its ripe apples was taken in the early fall, and I love the rich textures and muted tones of this piece.
