I tend to gravitate towards painting landscapes. The ones that turn out the best are the landscapes with which I am most intimate. This piece was inspired by many hikes in the Northern Cascades. For me, it is a memory captured, and evokes feelings of calm and wonder. The piece started out as a study, but I ended up loving the delicacy and monochromatic color. So, I let it be.
