About the work

"Blue Pitcher" is a still life drawing created with pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint. Still life artworks are often about examining the objects around us, but also a study in light, shadow, and form. This particular object has been with me most of my adult life. Sometimes its purpose has been utilitarian, sometimes decorative. I've always been captivated by its shape and rustic elegance.
