One of a pair of lively and painterly mountainous landscapes full of deliberate but sometimes abstract paint daubs, lines and scratches representing wild flowers, distant trees and grasses. The scene was inspired by a summer break in the French Alps and the handling of the paint brings a vibrant energy to the piece. Up close there is much to look at with an exciting abstract feel, but from a distance a cool mountain scene with atmospheric colour changes brings a feeling of calm.
