Inky Beach

My dad kept a sketchbook journal...pen and ink drawings, watercolor sketches, pencil doodles. I wanted to do the same, a beach sketch, dabbed with washes of color, composed with simple but strong suggestive lines, negative space to provide a solid foundation, plenty of hints and subtle nods to an expressive color sketch.

With a background in music (piano and composition) and art I'm often in my comfort zone creating. I have a continuous curiosity of things involving art and design, nature, music, architecture, and photography, and inspiration is never in short supply. With a great cup of coffee and most likely a tasty pastry too, I'm always up for a Minted Challenge. But just as easily is any happy chance to hang out with my wife and kids and our terrific dog and cats. less
