About the work
This woodcut was inspired by the beauty of the Italian countryside. It was a lazy summer afternoon spent sketching on a hillside near the small town of Corciano, Italy. Poppies and grasses fill the foreground, giving way to a view of a small tower on rolling fields in front of distant mountains.
