This artwork is part of a collection based on freedom of expression. I let my intuition take the lead when I created this piece. Experimentation has always been an important part of my process, and this work is no exception. I used a range of materials including acrylic, colored pencil, pastel, graphite and charcoal to make gestural marks and strokes in a way that felt natural and instinctive.

Kristine is a graphic designer and mixed media artist working out of her home studio in Chicago, IL. Her artwork is created by experimentation with mark making through the use of different mediums and tools. Inspiration often comes from patterns in nature and the repetition of the city. She has a love for mixing unique and special colors through trial and error and the color palettes for her paintings evolve through that process. less
