Inspired by the playful world of early learning, this piece transforms numbers into animals—blending counting with imagination. Each number is hand-illustrated to resemble a creature, inviting kids to explore numbers in a fun, unexpected way. For this piece, I reimagined numbers as playful creatures. Rather than placing animals next to numbers, I challenged myself to merge them into one. I wanted each number to be instantly recognizable as both a numeral and an animal, inviting children to count while sparking their imagination.

Serineh is an illustrator and surface designer based in Yerevan, Armenia. After earning her MA in Graphic Design from the Art University of Tehran, she followed her dream of illustrating children’s books and creating playful surface designs. Inspired by nature, childhood memories, and dreams, she often weaves botanicals and quirky characters into her art. When not working, she enjoys reading, playing piano, tending plants, and long walks. less
