I love going through interior catalogues, especially the summer editions with beautiful colours. I also like cutting bits out to make collages. Last year, I made a series of collages with the theme 'summer food' - this ice cream piece was one of them. Moving the cutout pieces around and deciding where to put them is so much fun. I've added patterns after deciding the final position to give the picture more character.
