My grandpa is an incredible engineer who had a long career at Boeing and holds many patents. He gave my sons an erector set that he used to play with as a boy. There was a booklet included from the early 1900s that showed various blueprints and machinery that could be built with the set. This plane diagram was inspired by that book and my grandpa's lifelong love of engineering that started as a boy. It is part of a larger series that includes a train and rocket - all are meant to inspire creativity and imagination.
