A watercolor meditation on waves of the ocean. I get such a feeling of calm when watching waves, so I tried to bring that feeling to this work. And watercolor seems like the best medium to convey the feeling of a body of water. I hope it creates a feeling of zen for the viewer, as much as it did for me while creating it.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kelly Witmer is a multi-disciplinary artist splitting her time between Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, CA, where she shares a studio with a few goats and several chickens.
Born in a small Amish town in Pennsylvania, Kelly received her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with additional studies at Parsons School of Design in Paris, France.
More of a general practitioner than a specialist, Kelly works in various forms of paint as well as printmaking, ceramics, and glass work. less
