About the work
This geometric collage piece is part of a series of cut-outs of gouache on paper. It explores color associations, geometries and balance of forms. The stacking of the shapes abstractly references the totem poles of the Pacific Northwest. The colors in the piece are a juxtaposition of warmer tones of summer with cooler ones of water and shade.
