This abstract acrylic painting takes a modern spin on landscape art. The painting was inspired by a poem that my son wrote about the ocean and the color blue. The colors represent the beauty of Northern California coastline and my son Beckett's imagination.

Caryn Owen created abstract paintings while simultaneously balancing motherhood and a career as a marine biology professor for years. In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art.
Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
