This piece was based on a photo that I took of these simple flowers from my garden. I love the fragrance of lily of the valley and the foliage has a lovely form. I was working with lots of layers of paint here and wanted to keep the composition simple.

    about the artist

    byLiz Innvar

    Accord, NY

I am a painter and collage artist. But not always! I have a degree in horticulture and worked for many years outside either gardening or designing gardens for others. Real and imaginary plants and landscape are my thing. I need to stay curious about the imagery and the materials - "the stuff" of creating a piece. My work employs multiple stylistic approaches for that reason- curiosity! Enjoy.
