A photograph of a flock of birds flying over a field in late autumn. As my kids have gotten older, I've been able to leave them and tag along with my husband on a few of his business trips. I always have my camera with me to explore while he is in meetings. This shot was taken mid morning in Waterloo, Canada. The landscape here is so different from my California home that just about every road I wandered down felt like a place I'd only read about in books. I was in love with the crisp air hinting at winter; the golds, browns, and deep greens of the landscape; and the treelines--I loved all the barren trees and bushes.
