I photographed this swell from the pier above on a stormy day as a part of a series of wave studies I've done through the El Nino season. The sets that have hit the California Coast this season have brought more power than I've seen in a long time. I lifted the exposure on this particular image to convey a greater feeling of calm and wonder amidst the strength of the surging tide.
